| Our Instructor, Program Assistant, Office Manager (Me!), and Site Director @ the PREP Staff Appreciation Dinner |
So as many of y'all know, I was home for the summer working for the Pre-Freshman Engineering Program (PREP) as an office manager by day, and taking orders at Jason's Deli by night. Before I started working though, my best friend, Marissa, my mom, and I spent a girls weekend together which included a day trip to Austin to see a crowd favorite...BATS! BATS! and more BATS!

We (my brothers, mom, and I) also got to make a short weekend trip to Dallas to visit my aunt and uncle and had some majorrr Prius issues on the way up. Although I'm sure the repairs cost a pretty penny, I always find it enjoyable to watch my mom freak/work under pressure. While in Dallas, we all went to see an exhibit about the
Guanajuato Mummies (click the link to learn more about the bizarre history!)
At the very end of the summer, I was blessed to be asked by the space lab team to join them at the SmallSatellite conference in Logan, UT for 10 days! I joined this team in the Spring semester to help develop and build a small (10 cm by 10cm by 10cm) cube satellite called COPPER. We are currently set to launch COPPER in June of 2012 through NASA's
ELaNa mission. The conference was a wonderful experience, and we did some great networking!

Although the summer went by too too fast, I am looking forward to the upcoming school year!
