Back during President's Day weekend, Angie and I hosted my good friend Jacob Flores and his mom for the weekend. Jacob is a senior at Central Catholic (Julian's High School) and, was at the time considering, but now is officially attending Saint Louis University! Declared major: Biology Pre-Med. We spent the friday afternoon walking all over campus, filling them in overloading them with information about housing, classes, teachers, grocery stores, greek life, campus security, moving in, student organizations, welcome week, events...well you get the picture!
During our "tour"
For lunch on Saturday the four of us went for bar-b-q at the famed, Pappy's Smokehouse. Although it was a 2 hour wait in line, I think the Flores's thought the time well spent the second they sunk their teeth into that amazzzing pulled pork sandwich.
Later that evening, Jacob and I attended an acapella competition at Washington University, just a short drive from campus. He has a passion for singing and wanted to scope out our male acapella group on campus, The Bare Naked Statues. We had so much fun!! I had never seen our boys perform before so this was a real treat for me as well. There were about 12 different groups from the surrounding states that performed. Although SLU did not place overall, they were recognized in a few categories including outstanding solo. Check out the performances below!
